What Happens During Your Scan

Arrival & Preparation

You'll be welcomed at our clinic in Marylebone. The sonographer will explain the procedure and ask you to lie on an examination couch.

Gel Application

A small amount of ultrasound gel will be applied to your chest to ensure clear transmission of sound waves.

Scanning

The sonographer will move a transducer (a small handheld device) across your chest, capturing live images of your heart on a screen.

Measurements & Assessment

Various measurements will be taken to assess your heart's size, function, and blood flow. You may be asked to hold your breath briefly.

Completion

The gel will be wiped off, and you can resume your normal activities immediately. The scan typically takes 30-45 minutes.
