3 Vascular Scans — One Appointment

Complete vascular assessment to identify stroke and cardiovascular risk

Carotid Duplex Scan

  • Carotid artery stenosis assessment
  • Atherosclerotic plaque detection
  • Blood flow velocity measurement
  • Intima-media thickness (IMT)

Carotid artery disease causes up to 20% of all strokes. Early detection allows treatment before a stroke occurs.

Abdominal Aorta Scan

  • Aorta diameter measurement
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) detection
  • Atherosclerotic changes
  • Iliac vessel assessment

AAA rupture is fatal in 80% of cases. Ultrasound screening is the most effective way to detect it before rupture.

Leg Arterial Evaluation

  • Both leg arteries assessed
  • Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
  • Blood flow assessment
  • Arterial stenosis or occlusion

Peripheral arterial disease is a strong indicator of systemic vascular disease and elevated stroke risk.

Who Should Have Stroke Screening?

Stroke screening is particularly important if you have one or more of the following risk factors:

High blood pressure (hypertension)
High cholesterol (hyperlipidaemia)
Type 2 diabetes
Smoking history
Family history of stroke or heart disease
Atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat)
Obesity or sedentary lifestyle
Age over 55
Previous TIA (mini-stroke)
Carotid bruit (whooshing sound in neck)
